if a^b =1, then a=1 or b=0 and a≠0 since ∣x−3∣^(x^2 −9) =1 ⇒∣x−3∣=1 ...(i) ⇒x^2 −9=0 and x−3≠0 ...(ii) from (i) ⇒ x−3=±1 x=±1+3 ⇒x=2 or 4 from (ii) ⇒ x^2 =9 and x≠3 ⇒x=−3 x=(−3,2,4) Σx=−3+2+4=3
