(3) u_(n+1) −u_n  = (1/3)(u_n −2v_n )−u_n                               = (1/3)u_n −(2/3)v_n −u_n                              = −(1/3)(u_n +v_n ) = −(1/3)(−5((5/6))^n ) = (5/3)((5/6))^n >0  Hence u_n  is increasing.
