how many ways can you  exchange 1 dollar using  (1,5,10,25,50) cents  example  1 dollar(100 cents)=2×50cents  =1×50+2×25=4×25  =1×50+1×25+1×10+1×5+10×1  and so on  how many all the ways ?

1×a+5×b+10×c+25×d+50×e=100  a,b,c,d,e≥0  (1+x+x^2 +x^3 +...)(1+x^5 +x^(10) +...)  (1+x^(10) +x^(20) +...)(1+x^(25) +x^(50) +...)  (1+x^(50) +x^(100) +...)  =(1/((1−x)(1−x^5 )(1−x^(10) )(1−x^(25) )(1−x^(50) )))  coef. of x^(100)  is 292.  ⇒there are 292 ways to exchange 1$.

but I didnt understand how  coef. of x^(100)  is 292  Can you please do more steps?  thank you so much

in fact it is not easy to expand the  generating function manuallly. i did  let wolframalpha do it.

one can count the number of ways   for different cases. in internet  you may find many such solutions,  for example:

$${one}\:{can}\:{count}\:{the}\:{number}\:{of}\:{ways}\: \\ $$$${for}\:{different}\:{cases}.\:{in}\:{internet} \\ $$$${you}\:{may}\:{find}\:{many}\:{such}\:{solutions}, \\ $$$${for}\:{example}: \\ $$
