 ∣(√x) − 2∣ = 4(√x) − x − 2    (√x) − 2 = ± (4(√x) − x − 2)   First eq.    (√x)− 2 = −(4(√x) − x − 2)   (√x) − 2 = x + 2 −4(√x)   5(√x) = x + 4   25x = x^2  + 16 + 8x   x^2  − 17x + 16 = 0   (x − 16)(x − 1) = 0   x_1  = 16; x_2  = 1   Second eq.   (√x) − 2 = 4(√x) − x − 2   x = 3(√x)   x_3  = 9    x ∈ {1, 9}  ⇒ sum = 10
