...am i right if use concept of arthmetic progression?,please if i do mistake need correcton!

try using the population growth rate formula twice...while  i think of something

check the question at first!  population growth or population?  24 000 000 or 2 400 000?    besides the year 2000 is in the past,  the population of this year is already  a reality. a reality doesn′t need to be  calculated.

 A = P(1 + r)^n   at 1985 let n = 0  then in 1995, n = 10  A = 24000000 , P = 20000000  ⇒ 24000000 = 20000000(1 +r)^(10)    ⇒ 1.2 = (1 + r)^(10)      log 1.2  = 10 log(1 + r)    0.0079181246 = log(1 + r)  ⇒ 1 + r = 1.02 ⇒ r = 0.02  now n = 5, P = 24000000, A = ?  ⇒ A = 24000000(1 +0.02)^5  ≈ 26000000

maybe you are right.  but the question says the population  growth in 1985 was 2000000, not  the population in 1985 was 20000000.

well sir , you cannot expect the population  growth of a country to be 20,000,000 right  that is not logical except they are Rabbits  not humans.  I assumed the he/she meant the population  not population growth.
