If A and B are independent events and  P(C)=0, then

$$\mathrm{If}\:{A}\:\mathrm{and}\:{B}\:\mathrm{are}\:\mathrm{independent}\:\mathrm{events}\:\mathrm{and} \\ $$$${P}\left({C}\right)=\mathrm{0},\:\mathrm{then} \\ $$

for independent events, P(A ∩ B) = P(A)×P(B)  but P (C ′) = 0 ⇒ P(C) = 1.   ⇒ C is a disjoined event

$$\mathrm{for}\:\mathrm{independent}\:\mathrm{events},\:{P}\left({A}\:\cap\:{B}\right)\:=\:{P}\left({A}\right)×{P}\left({B}\right) \\ $$$$\mathrm{but}\:{P}\:\left({C}\:'\right)\:=\:\mathrm{0}\:\Rightarrow\:{P}\left({C}\right)\:=\:\mathrm{1}.\: \\ $$$$\Rightarrow\:{C}\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{a}\:\mathrm{disjoined}\:\mathrm{event} \\ $$
