 0.6^. =0.6+0.06+0.006+... =((0.6)/(1−.1))=(6/9)=(2/3)
$$\:\mathrm{0}.\overset{.} {\mathrm{6}}=\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{6}+\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{06}+\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{006}+… \\ $$$$=\frac{\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{6}}{\mathrm{1}−.\mathrm{1}}=\frac{\mathrm{6}}{\mathrm{9}}=\frac{\mathrm{2}}{\mathrm{3}} \\ $$

Algebraic approach: let x=0.6^(.) ...(i) Multiplying by 10: 10x=6.6^(.) ...(ii) (ii)−(i): 9x=6 x=(6/9)=(2/3)
